December 15, 2011 Dear Partner: The Bible says, “Show mercy and compassion to one another” Zechariah 7:9. It always warms my heart to read Paul’s salutations and greetings to those who served with him in ministry. Mercy and compassion flowed at flood tide. I’m touched by a particular reference Paul wrote: “Greet Rufus, chosen in the Lord, and his mother, who has been a mother to me, too.” Romans 16:13. Rufus happened to be the son of Simon the Cyrene, who was called out from the crowd to carry the cross for Jesus. This elderly mother was the wife of Simon, who apparently cared for Paul during his ministry. Can you fathom the joy this mother felt to know that her son, Rufus, was serving with the man who was miraculously saved and called to bring the saving Gospel to the world? For years one of my mottos for life is this one: “I am only one, yet I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And what I can do, by the grace of God, I am doing it.” I appreciate that you have made a choice to serve the Lord with us in our world outreaches. You can not do everything, but “as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God,” Romans 8:14. To whom shall we show mercy and compassion? First, to our own family members. Daily I affirm the blood of Jesus over my wife, Debra, my four children, three in-laws, 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Then I “draw a blood line” over you, my partners. Perhaps you have read my stories of amazing miracles by making much of the blood of Jesus. “Wonder working power, in the blood of the Lamb.” God is giving us opportunities to show mercy and compassion to people all over the world -- through international radio and internet broadcasts of Bold Bible Living and millions of my books. At this season of my life, I am staying most days in my secret place of prayer, interceding for you my caring partners. Also I am writing what the Holy Spirit teaches me through His Word. Then I minister in mercy and compassion through the media the Lord has given us. Possibly God is enabling us to reach more people than ever before. I know God wants us to be fruitful and multiply not only worldwide through partnership but in our own towns as well. He calls each one of us to extend His compassion and to be significant in a local body of believers. Not famous, just steadfast, kind and helpful to Jesus’ Body. We are grateful and honored that the Father called Debra and me to plant International Community Church in the heart of the Vancouver area with loving people from eleven nations being discipled for our Lord’s harvest fields. Speak Up! Your Life Is At Stake! This is the title of a best selling book I wrote. It’s now out of print, so I spoke it onto a CD! Many have expressed that this is one of the most helpful books I have written. To help you fulfill your life of significance and compassion during 2012, we are now offering you the CD, “Speak Up! Your Life Is At Stake!” It will be sent to you in appreciation of your free will offering for Bold Bible Missions. Please mark the enclosed Action Card to receive this CD. How heart-warming to read letters from impoverished people in many lands. They share in simple words the gladness of receiving Jesus’ great salvation. As our partner, these are your eternal victories too. David declared, “You have put gladness in my heart” Psalm 4:7. Thank you for sharing our vision by your prayers and finances, to herald the Christmas message, “Great joy to all people” Luke 2:10. The poor shall be made glad. Daniel 11:32 “And the people who know their God shall be strong and do exploits.” My challenge to you: To know the Lord. Be strong. Do exploits. Your brother in ministry, Don Gossett P.S. Thanks for serving with us in 2011. May your cup run over with ‘peace and joy...health and provision...abundance of blessings.’ Your end of year gift will be received with gladness; a tax deductible receipt will be sent to you. Let’s move forward with boldness into 2012 to know the Lord, be strong and do exploits! our contact page. |
